Laptop power plugged in but not charging
Did you have this problem before?
You plug in your laptop charger but your laptop does not charge the battery.
I had this issue today. My battery was on 0% and I had to keep the power plugged in. I did some research and found the solution which I’ll share with you.
The issue is not related to hardware. It’s an issue with Windows.
To solve the issue, follow these steps:
- Remove the battery from the laptop carefully keeping the power plugged in.
- Right click on my computer and press properties. Then press on device manager. Expand the Batteries section. Right click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and click uninstall.

- Place the battery in the laptop.
- Right click on batteries and select Scan for hardware changes. Windows will find reinstall the driver for you and the battery icon should be on which means your laptop is charging.
